Tom Bergeron talked about season 24 of “Dancing with the Stars” on Friday’s “The View.” Watch below!
Bergeron joined the co-hosts in Disney World, where the ABC talk show has spent this week filming. His appearance on the program came exactly 10 days before the new season of “DWTS” premieres on March 20. Before discussing the ballroom competition, the host talked about the amusement park, sharing a memorable Christmas photo with Mickey and crew. “I tried to get the duck to wear pants, but he wouldn’t do it,” he quipped of Donald.
For “Dancing with the Stars,” Bergeron declined to name any potential frontrunners. Instead he said, “I don’t pick favorites in terms of who I think might win, but I’ve gotta say, watching Mr. T do the cha-cha is right up there.” He’s also looking forward to seeing first-time parents Maksim Chmerovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd compete.
“I’ll be doing some sort of backstage babysitting, I would imagine. I was really pleased that they’re both going to do it, because Shai is just a couple of months old,” Bergeron said of the couple’s baby boy. And since new parents typically squabble over things like feedings, he wondered how they’ll “do when they actually compete against each other [on the show]… This could get ugly.”
Bergeron also spoke about his love of meditation and boxing, and looked back at an amusing interview clip with the late Carrie Fisher. Check out the video below!
