Dogs have a special nickname for a majority of the world. They are considered “man’s best friend,” especially if they are trained properly.
However, Muslims don’t agree with that statement at all. They don’t like dogs, and consider them to be “unclean” animals. Unfortunately, that viewpoint was just enforced by the police.
In Toronto, a man walking his dog at an annual Muslim festival was arrested by police and told that he was being “insensitive” to the protesters. This was because he brought his dog to a park.
The dog, a 165-pound English Mastiff aptly named Cupcake, is a registered therapy dog and was at the rally on a leash. He was wearing an Israeli flag around his neck.
The man was at the Al-Quds Day rally as a “concerned citizen,” and was with his son and father, and Cupcake. At the event, two Muslim women approached to ask about the dog.
That was when the trouble started, as a male demonstrator said he wasn’t “allowed to go near our women.” The man said he was able to go wherever he wanted, but then was “punched in the chest” by a second demonstrator as someone else kicked the dog.
After shoving the man who punched him, police grabbed the owner of the dog and arrested him. After being cuffed for about half an hour, the officers said he was being arrested for assault and inciting a riot.
They also said that he “was being insensitive to others.” According to police, he shouldn’t have gone to a rally dominated by Muslims accompanied by his dog.
By doing this, the police have essentially shown that when there is a large crowd of Muslims, other laws do not apply.
So if there is a large crowd of Muslims at an event, don’t bring a dog. Otherwise the threat of being arrested for being “insensitive” increases.
