Keyshia Cole is reportedly a new addition to the cast of VH1’s reality tv show Love & Hip Hop Hollywood. The singer is set to appear on the show’s new season with her estranged husband, former NBA player, Daniel “Boobie” Gibson.
The show is supposed to follow Keyshia’s relationship with Boobie as they attempt to co-parent their 7-year-old son. The couple has been married since 2011 and announced their separation in 2014, however, neither party ever attempted to file for divorce.
According to sources, the producers of the show wanted to bring on actual A-list music talent, similar to the way that the New York version has Remy Ma. It also doesn’t hurt that Keyshia has a huge following and previously had major success in reality television.
Once upon a time, Keyshia starred in her own reality tv show on BET, Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is, which followed her career and family life. The show lasted from 2006-2008 and resulted in her sister and mother getting their own spinoff. She later returned to television in 2012 with Keyshia & Daniel: Family First, and then Keyshia Cole: All In in 2015.
Keyshia was convinced to do the show by her close friend Remy Ma. Remy’s career skyrocketed while appearing on the show, after being in prison for six years. Remy is also the only cast member on the New York installment of the popular franchise who has an extremely successful career in Hip-Hop. Keyshia has reportedly signed a $1 million contract for her appearance on the show.
This may all just hype to promote her new album that is supposed to drop this year. The album is called 11:11 Reset and Keyshia has already dropped her first single “You” which features Remy Ma and French Montana.
Nothing has been confirmed or announced officially by VH1 or Love & Hip-Hop on Keyshia’s involvement. However, no one has come out and said that any of this is false either.
