Is Judi Dench retiring? A tabloid report claims the acting icon is “quitting Hollywood.” Gossip Cop can exclusively reveal the truth.
Star writes in its new issue, “Let the sky fall… just don’t let Judi Dench retire! Rumor has it the veteran actress’ next role will be her last.” A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “She just turned 82 and between the blurry vision, bad knees and creaking hips, she’s very aware of how quickly she’s deteriorating.”
With the goal of a “final part” leading to an Academy Award, “she’s thinking a period piece or another real-life drama, like Philomena,” claims the magazine’s supposed snitch. “But Oscar or not, Judi’s plan is to be fully retired from Hollywood before she turns 85. She’s finally ready to walk away.”
Of course, Dench only turned 82 just last month, so Star has given itself quite a bit of leeway here. No matter, the retirement claims aren’t accurate in the least. A rep for Dame Dench exclusively tells Gossip Cop, “I can absolutely categorically confirm that there is not an iota of truth to this story. Judi has no intention of retiring. Never has, never will.”
It doesn’t get any clearer than that. And this isn’t the first time the tabloid has been guilty of spreading a false retirement allegation. Back in 2011, Star ridiculously said Kristen Stewart was quitting acting. Gossip Cop thinks it’s long past time the outlet quit its poor reporting.
