News of President Trump’s decision to fire FBI Director James Comey spread like wildfire. Even though the Democrats were against the now-former FBI Director, they still slammed Trump for his actions.
It was after that decision that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) made a request to all the Democratic members of the Senate. He had asked the 48 Democratic members of the Senate to be in their desks by 9:30 a.m.
The deadline came and went, but it didn’t look like many Senators headed Schumers request. According to a Politico reporter, a little over half of the Democratic Senators were in their desks at the reported time.
Seung Min Kim, the reporter, sent a tweet just shortly after 9:30 a.m. that Democrats are not going to be proud of.
“Schumer asked all 48 Senate Dems to be at their desks at 9:30. About 28 are here.” That is an absolute embarrassment.

It didn’t seem to perturb Senator Schumer though. He went on as planned and slammed the Trump administration for their actions against the former FBI Director.
He then said that a special prosecutor should be appointed to investigate allegations of collusion between Trump and the Russians. Even though the Russian collusion narrative is cumbersome, Democrats continue to claim it.
The interesting story here is that 20 Democratic Senators didn’t listen to what Senator Schumer had asked of them. There could be a million different reasons for this, but it shows two things.
The first is that the Democrats are not very good at listening to instructions. The other is that Senator Schumer is failing as a leader. A good leader wouldn’t have this many people miss a request. If this is what the Democrats have to look forward to, no wonder their party is in disarray.
