A man accused of stalking Taylor Swift was arrested earlier this week, after spending the last few months allegedly making unwanted visits to her New York home.
Mohammed Jaffar allegedly first went to Swift’s New York City residence in December, demanding to see the superstar in person. He was obviously unsuccessful, but also undeterred. He reportedly returned to the property four more times in January and February.
During one unwelcome instance, Jaffar allegedly somehow made his way to the floor of Swift’s penthouse entrance. Surveillance footage also reportedly caught him on the building’s roof. On two other occasions, he is accused of incessantly ringing Swift’s doorbell for 45 minutes to an hour.
The 29-year-old Jaffar also allegedly contacted Swift’s management company repeatedly to set up an introduction with the singer. Court papers indicate he called nearly 60 times in a little over two weeks. It’s unclear how police eventually tracked him down, but Jaffar was arrested on Monday and charged with both stalking and burglary.
He is still behind bars, as he hasn’t ponied up for a $20,000 bond. Swift has already been granted a restraining order, regardless. Unfortunately, this is not the first time the songstress has had to deal with such a scary situation. She’s had multiple home intruders at her various homes over the years, and last November, an alleged stalker named Frank Andrew Hoover was arrested for repeatedly violating a stay-away order.
This latest ordeal was first reported by the New York Post. A rep for Swift did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
