Shia LaBeouf was arrested at 12:30 am on Thursday in New York for getting into a scuffle with another “He Will Not Divide Us” protester, Gossip Cop has confirmed with the NYPD. The actor pushed and scratched an unidentified 25-year-old male, who was also at the webcam set up in front of the Museum of the Moving Image. See video below of LaBeouf’s arrest.
A spokesman for the NYPD tells Gossip Cop the altercation between LaBeouf and the other man was not an anti-President Trump versus pro-Trump situation. “That was not the case,” says the spokesman. The NYPD’s public information officer notes the actor “took umbrage” with something the 25-year-old said or did, and attempted to pull the guy’s scarf and ended up “scratching his face.” Gossip Cop is also told LaBeouf “pushed” the other man, who had visible injuries but refused medical attention. As of now, LaBeouf is still locked up in a police precinct and faces a misdemeanor assault charge.
This is the second noteworthy incident that’s occurred at the actor’s “He Will Not Divide Us” live stream. As Gossip Cop reported, LaBeouf yelled, “He will not divide us” at an alleged white supremacist, who came to the performance art project on Sunday and seemingly praised Adolf Hitler. Again, it appears in the current situation that led to LaBeouf’s arrest that both the star and the man with whom he fought were on the same side politically.
As Gossip Cop previously noted, LaBeouf began live streaming his “He Will Not Divide Us” project, beginning on Inauguration Day. The premise is anyone can stand in front of the webcam outside the museum and utter, “He will not divide us” in protest to President Trump. The actor has said that he plans to live stream throughout Trump’s entire presidency.
