Afar Ssain, a resident of the city of Columbus (Ohio), has reportedly killed Farheen, his wife; after he noticed her scarf slipping off her head while she was having lunch.
He then asked his daughter to bury the body of her mother in the house which she refused to do. His neighbors described him as unstable mentally and a staunchly religious man who was obsessed as far as screening women is concerned.
It is said that his wife didn’t realize her dupatta, a traditional scarf worn on the head by Muslims, had fallen off her head. If Afar does get convicted, it would just be the latest religious act of violence in this region where these acts occur regularly.
