Lorde performed “Liability” on this week’s “SNL.” The song is the second single off her upcoming album Melodrama. Earlier on “SNL,” Lorde sang “Green Light.” See the video below of Lorde’s performance of “Liability” on “Saturday Night Live.”
As Gossip Cop noted, this is the first time Lorde has been the musical guest on the sketch comedy series. Like “Green Light,” it’s also the first live performance she’s ever given of “Liability.” On Thursday, when the song came out, Lorde tweeted that the single evoked memories of when she was young and would “walk down the hall kind of drunk at a party and shut myself in a bedroom to mumble something happy or sad into my phone.” Even though Lorde only released the audio for “Liability” two days ago on YouTube, it’s been listened to nearly 2 million times since then.
After “Saturday Night Live,” Lorde’s heads next month to Coachella in Indio, California, where she’ll perform back-to-back weekends. She’s also slated to perform at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in Louisiana and the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York. Lorde is also set to play Bonnaroo in Tennessee in June, followed by a concert in Switzerland in July and then the Fuji Music Festival in Japan.
