Upgrading your gear is a fundamental part of how you progress in Injustice 2. While you can earn gear by completing story missions or other activities, the primary way to earn new loot is through Mother Boxes. These chests will randomly gift the player with pieces of armor for a random character, meaning they will be your primary source of progression. While you can outright buy Mother Boxes with credits in Injustice 2, there are some other ways to simply earn them.
Here is how to get Mother Boxes:
- Level-Up: When you level up your character it’s possible to earn a Mother Box or specific piece of armor. This goes for every hero, so the more you play with different heroes the more Mother Boxes you will earn.
- Single Player: Injustice 2’s single player is broken up into chapters, each of which tasks the player with controlling a specific hero through some fights. After each fight and chapter, you will be given rewards which can include loot boxes, credits, shaders, or gear.
- Purchase
- Bronze – 1,000 Credits
- Silver – 5,000 Credits
- Gold – 25,000 Credits
- Multiverse: The Multiverse will be your primary source of acquiring loot boxes as they are offered as rewards for completing the various events. However, the big difference is that you can earn Platinum and Diamond rarity loot boxes as well.
- Daily Challenges: Every day there are new challenges that players can complete in order to obtain rewards. These challenges can be viewed on the Main Menu to your right on the computer screen.
There is a lot of loot in Injustice 2, so you will need to obtain as many Mother Boxes as possible in order to rank up your fighter. Remember that you typically earn gear that is of a higher level than what you are wearing so always swap out your armor pieces. This will not only make you harder to kill, but boost a specific set of attributes for your character.
