Nintendo is poised to release new heroes for Fire Emblem Heroes from the upcoming Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. It’s pretty cool that Nintendo is introducing these heroes to the public so we can get to know them before their game even comes out. It reminds me of how Marth and Roy were included in Super Smash Bros. Melee before even a single Fire Emblem game hit the west.
There are currently 125 playable heroes and counting in Fire Emblem Heroes. While all the extra heroes Nintendo is adding to the game post launch are awesome, I can’t help but feel that there are some things missing – six things missing to be exact.
Here are six heroes (in no particular order) we want in Fire Emblem Heroes.
The Black Knight – Fire Emblem Path of Radiance & Radiant Dawn
(Nintendo)
The Black Knight is one of the most popular enemies in Fire Emblem, and would be perfect as one of the most ferocious armored units in Fire Emblem Heroes. His sword Alondite would essentially grant him Armored Blow which gives him extra defense when initiating attacks, perfect for his already high defense and HP. He would have to have very low resistance and speed to balance all that out, however.
In Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, the Black Knight gets the skill of Nihil, which prevents enemies from using their skills. In Fire Emblem Heroes, this would translate into enemy units not being able to use special skills like Luna or Bonfire. But it would have to only work when initiating attack so that it doesn’t become completely overpowered. We could also add Threaten Attack to lower enemies’ attacks, which would fit with his intimidating demeanor and make him even more of a tank than he already is. Pivot would help with his limited mobility. Finally for his special skill, we could either give him Luna or introduce Eclipse. Eclipse would function similarly to Aether but not only would the Black Knight attack as if the opponent had half of its defense but boost the attack of the Black Knight by half as well (essentially making the attack Luna and Dragon Fang combined). It would have a huge cooldown like Aether does to balance it out, though.
Kaden – Fire Emblem Fates

With all of the awesome dragons hanging around Fire Emblem Heroes, it would be awesome to have a hero that transforms into something a bit more beastly.
The fun-loving and cuddly Kaden is a Kitsune, which means he can transform into a fox. This has some interesting implications for gameplay. While the dragons deal magical damage, Kaden could deal physical damage. And that damage could be colorless like it is in Fire Emblem Fates so that he doesn’t have any weaknesses (or strengths) in the weapon triangle.
Kaden also gets awesome skills in Fire Emblem Fates that I would love to see transfer over to Fire Emblem Heroes. Evenhanded boosts his damage on even-numbered turns. Grisly Wound has the enemy take damage equal to 20 percent of their Max HP after battle, which is essentially an improved version of Poison Strike which deals only a set amount of damage. For the command skill, we can add Pivot to boost his mobility or Reposition to protect other units. And the special skill can be Luna to complement his already high attack stat.
Oh, and he’s way better than the Taguels in Fire Emblem Awakening. A person that can transform into an overgrown rabbit? Boring.
Rinkah – Fire Emblem Fates

While the ratio of men to women in Fire Emblem Heroes is pretty much even (62 men and 63 women), I think we can do with a bunch more badass women. And none are more badass than Rinkah.
The stoic, no-nonsense fire tribe princess would be a green melee unit with high attack, defense, and HP but low speed. She could wield a club instead of an axe just like she does in Fire Emblem Fates, which can offer high damage or prevent lance users from from making follow-up attacks while lowering her speed. You can also give her a Brave Axe so she can make extra attacks to compensate for her low speed.
Her skills could include Fiery Blood, which boosts her attack when her HP is not full like it does in Fire Emblem Fates. You could also swap out Firey Blood with Death Blow to give her extra attack power when initiating combat. As for her second skill, you could either give her Seal Resistance to help magical teammates make short work of enemies or Brash Assault which would allow her to make a follow-up attack when at less than half HP and attacking a foe that can counter. For her command skill, you could give her Shove or Smite to help other units get around the map. And her special skill could be Bonfire, which boosts attack based on her defense and works well with her fire tribe theme.
Veronica – Fire Emblem Heroes
(Nintendo)
The main antagonist of Fire Emblem Heroes would make for a fantastic addition to the roster, and it wouldn’t take much work to put her in since she’s already in the game. As a green mage unit, Veronica has a high attack stat and some decent bulk to boot. Her speed is a bit lacking, though.
Her weapon Elivagar is not only a powerful ranged magic attack, but it turns all the stat bonuses on all foes within two spaces of the attacked unit into penalties. This is perfect as much of the metagame of Fire Emblem Heroes relies on stat buffs. She also has Renewal to heal herself and Savage Blow to damage all enemies within two spaces of an attacked unit, which pairs well with the effect of Elivagar. To top it all of she has Reprisal as her special skill, which grants bonus damage based on how much damage she has taken.
Bruno – Fire Emblem Heroes
(Nintendo)
The mysterious, masked Bruno would also be a shoe-in for Fire Emblem Heroes just like his sister Veronica. As a blue mage unit, he sports high attack and speed but relatively low defense and resistance.
His weapon Valaskjalf allows him to strike first when attacked at half HP, essentially granting him the Vantage skill without taking up his B skill slot. He also gets Warding Blow which grants extra resistance when initiating combat, making up for his lackluster resistance. His special skill is Growing Thunder, which creates a huge area of damage around the battlefield when attacking. I’d also recommend adding the skill Desperation, which allows him to attack twice before the opponent does when at 75 percent HP.
Anybody in Advance Wars
(Nintendo)
I don’t know about you, but I find the idea of a tank rolling around this high fantasy/anime world highly entertaining. But the inclusion of a tank from the military strategy game Advance Wars isn’t actually all that far-fetched, and not just because Advance Wars was developed by Intelligent Systems who developed all the Fire Emblem games.
A Ballistician in Fire Emblem Fates (Nintendo)
The Ballistician is a unit class that’s been in the Fire Emblem franchise since the very first game. They essentially function as high attack and defense archers with limited mobility and speed. In Fire Emblem Fates, they look and function like tanks.
For skills, you can give them Savage Blow as a reference to how the Ballistician can hit multiple enemies on the map as well as Close Counter so you can counter attacks from close range. Add Bonfire as a special skill to take advantage of the high defense and you should be good to go.
There are some notable Fire Emblem characters who are Ballisticians, but if Super Smash Bros. can have Fire Emblem characters then Fire Emblem Heroes can have Advance Wars characters.
And that’s everyone I’d like to see in Fire Emblem Heroes. What heroes do you want? Leave your answer in the comment section below.
