Ground Zero in New York City has become a sanctuary for citizens to go to remember the thousands of victims who lost their lives there in the largest terror attack on U.S. soil. While some areas of this monumental place are still under construction and plans for what to put there have yet to be decided, Muslim developer Sharif El-Gamal almost got away with building a 16-story Muslim Mosque there. After the obvious uproar of this insulting idea, the developer’s massive mosque was shut down, for which he wasn’t too happy about. Now the “religion of peace” as struck again, with what they are forcing on Americans right now.
Blogger and President of the American Freedom Defense Initiative, Pamela Geller, lead the charge against El-Gamal’s massive mosque being built as a triumph to the terrorism that took place in this spot on September 11. “The 16-story mosque that El-Gamal initially planned to build there has not been built, Geller victoriously told the New York Times. “Our efforts in showing what an insult it was to the American people and to the victims of 9/11, and how many Muslims worldwide would inevitably view it as a triumphal mosque built on the site of a jihad attack, defeated it.” True to Islamic form, El-Gamal wasn’t prepared to back down and retaliated with a vengeance to this defeat.
Rather than a 16-story mosque where Muslims could come praise Allah who calls for the deaths of Americans, as was executed in this spot, the Islamic developer proposed a new idea nearly three times that size as an insult to injury. “Now El-Gamal plans an Islamic Museum, which is just as much of an insult; it will be like having a Museum touting the glories of the Japanese Empire at Pearl Harbor,” Geller told the paper.
It’s intentional what the shady developer is trying to do just three blocks from World Trade Center under the guise of a 43-story luxury condo unit with a museum in the building. It’s not unlike other high priced residential high rises in the city that have galleries in the building, except this one would pay homage to the religion that forever stained our nation’s history in the area where it took place. People literally jumped to their deaths from the World Trade Center towers that were under attack by Muslims, and El-Gamal wants to build another tower in the area essentially praise the religion responsible for it.
New York Times reports seemingly in defense of the developer’s new plan:
“Unlike other New York City condos, this one is something of a consolation prize for the developer, and one that is opening in a cooling luxury market. The tower replaces the developer’s 2010 plan to build a 15-story Islamic mosque and cultural center on this site, an idea that erupted into a national controversy and cable news network bonanza.”
“The mosque’s opponents — among them some families of 9/11 victims, politicians and conservative media pundits — balked at the notion of a mosque so close to the site of the largest attack by Islamic terrorists in the nation’s history. Critics called it the Ground Zero Mosque, the Victory Mosque and a ‘megamosque.’”
It shouldn’t be hard to see that a three-story Muslim museum in this high rise condo building conveniently down the street from where the largest terror attack took place, isn’t a complete insult to the lives lost there.
“A genuine Islamic Museum that detailed the 1,400-year history of jihad warfare, cultural annihilation, land appropriation and enslavement would be appropriate at that location, but El-Gamal’s museum is certain to be a whitewash of the doctrine and history of jihad and a paean to imaginary Muslim contributions to various important inventions and achievements,” Geller said.
This isn’t about “Islamaphobia” or bigotry, it’s about showing respect for Americans who were senselessly killed there. You wouldn’t put a shrine to a murderer in the victim’s home where they were slaughtered, which is essentially the same as putting a Muslim mosque or museum is next door to where Islamic terrorism took place.
Apologists are painting this plan as a “community center” and those who are against it are racist and intolerant when it’s easy to see that this is no place for people to gather and celebrate our differences. The evil brought on September 11 and every day since is not “erased” by our supposed “friendship” we’re told to have with these people today. How easily people forget that jihad was guilty of homicidal assault and destruction and a museum or “community center” does change the evil that brought that here.
