Arnold Schwarzenegger is slamming President Donald Trump’s executive action on immigration as “crazy.” Watch below.

As Gossip Cop has reported, Schwarzenegger and Trump were initially on civil terms when the former governor of California was tapped to replace the mogul on “Celebrity Apprentice.” But before the presidential election, Schwarzenegger urged people not vote for him, and after the new season premiered, Trump slammed Schwarzenegger and the “Celebrity Apprentice” ratings. On the surface, it would seem the two should have a lot in common: They’re both reality TV hosts, stars-turned-politicians and Republicans.

But Schwarzenegger is also an immigrant, and he’s making clear he doesn’t agree with Trump’s actions, particularly how the order has been carried out. “I think that the real problem is that it was vetted badly,” he says in an “Extra” interview on Monday. “If they would’ve run this by the Justice Department and Homeland Security and had the lawyers really study it and focus on it and give it some time to do it the right way…”

Schwarzenegger continues, “I know what he’s trying to accomplish, and his fear about having people come in from other places and cause harm to the country and all of that stuff, but there is another way of going about it, to do it the right way and to accomplish still all the same goals. So I think they were hasty with it.”

“To go and to ban people that have a green card?!” the Austrian native says with a tone of exasperation. “That means America has given you permission to work here permanently in this country and you are on the way to citizenship. I was in that position. To all of a sudden get stuck in an airport and someone says to you, ‘You cannot come in’?!'”

As an another example, Schwarzenegger also mentions students that have been studying at American universities and now “can’t come [back] in” after going to their home countries to visit family. “I mean, it’s crazy. It’s crazy and it makes us look stupid when the White House is ill-prepared to put this kind of executive orders out there,” he says.

Schwarzenegger does acknowledge, from his own experience, that there is an adjustment period with a “new team,” and “mistakes” are going to be made. But, he adds, “I hope that this is a wake-up call for them. I learned very quickly that I have to be more inclusive and that I have to really not only do it with my party but with the other party, too.” Check out the full video below.
