Los Angeles was in danger of losing their pick to the Sixers if it dropped out of the top three. Things started to get interesting when the Knicks logo was unveiled at No. 8. It meant the Kings had jumped into the top three while the Knicks fell one spot. The Sixers swapped picks with the Kings thanks to a previous trade which gave Sacramento the fifth pick. The Kings also get the 10th pick thanks to the DeMarcus Cousins trade with the Pelicans.
As the Kings jumped into the top three, the Suns dropped down to four despite having the second best odds to win the lottery. With the two historic rivals landed the top two picks, all things are setting up for a great point guard rivalry. For the next month, fans will debate whether the Celtics should draft Markelle Fultz or Lonzo Ball.
Fultz seems to make the most sense given he has a bit more versatility to play with Isaiah Thomas. In addition to the Knicks, the Magic also dropped down a spot from fifth in the odds to sixth in the actual lottery.
