Implants in The Surge function essentially like the rings in Dark Souls. They offer both passive and active abilities that can turn the tide of battle. Luckily, there are a whole bunch of really useful ones in the starting area of the game. Here’s a list of some of the best and how to find them.
Aggression Amplifier – Your health is restored after every finishing move. When exiting your base of operations, turn right and then walk along the side of the building and past some boxes. It’s at the dead end.
Plasmic Regenerator – Your health is restored gradually. In the assembly facility, head through the entrance past the shortcut and turn right. It’s next to an enemy staring at a wall.
Vital Boost – Your maximum health is raised and scales with your power core level. It’s in the assembly facility on top of a shipping container. Go through the area with the dangerous-looking blue liquid and head up the stairs to the left by the drones. Then beat the enemy and break the boxes to the left. Then just hop down to the implant.
Vanadium E-Cell – Your maximum energy is increased and scales with power core level. Destroy the box that’s to the right of the area with the drones after the blue liquid area.
Vital Injection – Health is healed a limited number of times before needing to be recharged at the base (think the Estus from Dark Souls). Before you go down a set of stairs to get to the dark area known as the power plant, wait for the door to the right to get knocked down by an enemy. Then head up to the rafters above the assembly facility and get past the enemy with the YOSUKE Butterfly weapon. Head outside of the facility and then hang a left to the platform that ends with a drop.
Voltaic Dynamo – The amount of energy gained through successful attacks is increased. Follow the same steps you used to get to the Vital Injection to get to the rafters above the assembly facility. Right when you enter the facility, hang a right and then sprint and jump to a platform.
Blue X-Cables – Finishing moves have their cost reduced. Deep in the tunnels of the Power Plant, you’ll find a few drones. There’s a door on the right that opens up to reveal an enemy with a huge hammer. The implant is inside the room he’s in.
Another Vital Boost – It’s at the end of the hallway deep in the tunnels of the Power Plant area.
