‘Pokemon Go’ is available for iOS and Android devices. (Niantic)
A new Pokemon Go update has just been announced. What’s new this time around?
The latest update, Version 1.23.2 for iOS and 0.53.2 for Android, serves exactly one purpose: it adds in Korean language support to coincide with the game’s launch in South Korea. That appears to be all that’s in this update, and Niantic didn’t even bother putting up a blog post on their website for this one.
Trainers, Pokémon GO is being updated to version 0.53.2 for Android and 1.23.2 for iOS for Korean language support.

Pokemon Go officially launched in South Korea on Monday, January 23rd, over six months after the app was originally released. This was one of the biggest countries that had not yet received the game. Pokemon Go is also still not available in China, and it doesn’t seem that it’s going to be released there at all; according to Reuters, China’s state censor, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, has decided not to approve the game’s release due to security concerns.
This comes about a week after Version 1.23.1 & 0.53.1 hit the app stores. That update did not do much on the surface aside from adjusting the distance tracker, but a bunch of things were added in behind the scenes, and players soon discovered lines of code in the update that suggested Niantic is getting ready to add in 38 new moves, evolution items, shiny Pokemon, Pokemon genders, customizable avatars, and more.
Obviously, players are also still waiting for the release of more generation two Pokemon. We got a taste of that last month, when a handful of baby Pokemon were added to the game, but so far, there has been no official word about when additional creatures will be added.
Assuming Niantic sticks with their usual schedule, the next major update to the game should be released early next week.
