Selena Gomez and The Weeknd were NOT “secretly dating for a year” before their romance went public, despite a completely untrue tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the false story.
As Gossip Cop has reported, The Weeknd split from Bella Hadid last November. In early January, he and Gomez stepped out together for the first time. It’s been said Hadid is upset seeing her ex move on, but according to In Touch, “Bella doesn’t even know the half of it.”
“Things are about to get way worse. Bella is going to be livid when she finds out Selena has been secretly dating The Weeknd for a year,” a so-called “insider” claims. It’s alleged that after meeting in late 2015, “the pair managed to keep their romance a secret.”
Contends the supposed source, “Selena wasn’t honest with a lot of her friends about what was going on.” The magazine claims The Weeknd “strung her along for months, promising he would end things with Bella.” And, as the couple grew apart, the alleged tipster asserts Hadid “had her suspicions that there was someone else, but little does she know that person is Selena!”
But why, if the tabloid’s source says the singer-actress has been with The Weeknd for a year, did it announce in November that Gomez and Justin Bieber were getting married and going to have a “secret wedding”? Tellingly, that fabricated claim isn’t mentioned anywhere in this new story.
And now In Touch is peddling more lies with a blatant disregard for consistency and accuracy. A reliable contact exclusively tells Gossip Cop there is “not an ounce of truth” to the allegations Gomez and The Weeknd were “secretly dating for a year.”
