Mariah Carey performed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Wednesday, her first TV performance since the New Year’s Eve fiasco. Watch below.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Carey’s “New Year’s Rockin Eve” performance was marred by technical difficulties that left her walking around the stage awkwardly before completely giving up. The superstar’s camp accused Dick Clark Productions of trying to sabotage her, while producers insisted it was just an unfortunate glitch. Whatever the case, the gaffe dominated conversation as 2016 became 2017.
Now less than two months later, Carey is giving it another go. But while she performed live for the “Kimmel” audience, the show is taped, so the performance did not air on ABC live. And in addition to it being the singer’s first television performance since the New Year’s scandal, it also marked the first time she sang “I Don’t” on TV.
As Gossip Cop reported, the breakup track came out last month, and was widely interpreted as a pointed response to Carey’s broken engagement with James Packer. The “I Don’t” music video, released in early February, features Carey as a runaway bride who burns her wedding dress. Also in the clip is collaborator YG, who now joined the star on “Kimmel.” Check out the video below of Carey performing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
