Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are NOT in talks to star in La La Land on Broadway, despite a made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”
According to the National Enquirer, a stage version of the Oscar-nominated musical is in the works and producers want the original cast members to reprise their roles. A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “The deal’s deep in super-secret negotiations because honchos are paranoid about leaking the bombshell news before the Oscars.”
The outlet’s dubious insider goes on to say that the plan is for Stone to “launch ‘La La,’ establish it as a big hit, then cast a replacement so Emma can resume her mega-millions movie career.” The “source” further claims Gosling is also in “hush-hush talks.”
But Gossip Cop checked in with a reliable source close to the situation, who exclusively assures us that neither Stone nor Gosling have had any discussions about performing La La Land on Broadway. We’re told the tabloid’s entire tale is simply “not true.”
Of course, Gossip Cop has repeatedly called out the Enquirer for publishing fake news about the La La Land co-stars, so this latest fabrication comes as no surprise. We recently busted the publication for falsely claiming Gosling had hit on Stone back when the two made their first movie together. That story was entirely inaccurate, and the same goes for this latest one.
